The best superfoods for overall health and radiance

Guess what today is?

It's a time to start or stop whatever the heck you want.

The truth is: any time, day, minute, second is a chance to reinvent yourself, but psychologically a new month always gets the limelight.

Back on topic.

I constantly get asked, “what type of a diet do you follow?” And the truth is, I don’t follow a diet.

I am a very intuitive eater, meaning I don’t track macronutrients like proteins, carbs and fats. I eat when I’m hungry, don’t when I’m not, and I stop eating when I’m full.

However!

There are a couple of non negotiable foods I get in every single day to keep my energy high, immune system on point, and keep my skin glowing.

There are also a couple of non-negociables that I do not eat like grains (wheat, rice, quinoa, and oats.) I have a massive intollerance to these foods and it just isn’t worth it to me.

Was it easy? Not at all.

But when I started to feel better, my skin cleared up, hormones are balanced AF, and most importantly my ENERGY got higher, that’s when I gave it up for good.

Now back to the foods I do eat, nearly every single day:

Numero uno: Coconut oil. There was a recent study that just came out that I want you to ignore and erase from your memory. Most of the time studies are funded by competitors, so you have to be super careful who you listen to. Not only is coconut healthy for your body in general and help your hair, skin, and nails, but it is a HUGE fat burner.

Numero dos: Kale. Yes, I am that girl who owns a kale t-shirt, and for good reason. The amount of antioxidants, fiber, and overall amazingness kale has in it makes it non negotiable for me. Spinach comes at a close second, but Kale has my heart.

Numero dos: Salmon. This is new for me since I just turned Pescatarian, and I’m eating alot more often than I used to. Not only does this have a large amount of Omega 3 fatty acids, but it also serves as a great source of fat and helps your skin. Make sure to always get wild caught fish otherwise you’re filling your body with mercury and other nasty toxins.

Numero tres: Son of a….

I just realized I wrote dos twice, but the next one is Green tea.

Hellooooooo antioxidants. Green tea has been studied for years to help with heart health, immunity, skin, weight loss, and also boost your cognition. I always try to get a cup of tea in but a word of wisdom: never drink on an empty stomach. This can cause a ton of nausea if you forget this. Like run to the bathroom nausea.

And last but not to be confused with least important: Avocado.

Do you know who Bear Grylls is? He’s the adventure guy who gets dropped off in the middle of nowhere (for fun) and basically survives for days off of bugs and leaves.

He has said that the avocado is the number one food he would bring with him to survive for days with. And the reason for that is it has the perfect amount of protein, carbs and fats to keep you alive and healthy, and of course the obvious reason why I love it is because #guacamole.

There you have it! I thought I would share these because by implementing these superfoods into your diet not only will you see an improvement in your energy, skin, body weight, and overall health, but it takes the complication out of meals.

I make sure to have these items in my house at all times and they keep my immune system super strong.

Have an amazing day ladies and do something amazing with this month!

xoxo,

Taylor
